This fen is in a secluded spot that managed to avoid burning in the 2020 Cameron Peak Fire. The view up the valley is entirely burned, but the snow made the landscape look slightly less brutal. Even while snowshoeing, my feet would occasionally punch through snow and sink into a hole in the ground where roots and organic matter had burned away to leave a cavity.
